Attorney Jim Hammer is a highly experienced lawyer, with extensive trial experience in complex cases. Jim spent most of his early career as prosecutor, culminating in his work as the Head of the Homicide Division of the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. While there, Jim prosecuted a variety of complex homicide cases, including securing the 1st murder conviction in a dog attack in the People v. Noel and Knoller. In recent years, Jim has represented successfully clients in a variety of civil rights cases: successfully represented plaintiffs in a lawsuit against A&E and Dog the Bounty Hunter for various claims including false arrest; successfully represented tenants in an action for mold infestation in their apartments; successfully represented students in school bullying cases; victims of violent assault.
Mr. Hammer also represents clients in business matters, involving negotiations and commercial disputes.
